SZA Addresses “Offensive” Claims She’s Had Work Done On Her Face
SZA denies having had any surgery done on her face.
During an interview with the Wall Street Journal, the TDE artist opened up about rumors surrounding her body. While she is candid about getting a BBL, she called other surgery claims “offensive”, denying that her freckles, face, lips, and nose were all surgically enhanced.
“That sh*t is low-key offensive. Not low-key, it’s high-key offensive,” she began. “But what am I supposed to do? Post a debunking thread? That’s crazy. You would rather believe the TikTok thread. You would rather believe whatever Twitter thread; you could just google yourself and figure out.”
“There’s clear instances when I talked about my freckles. I heard I had a facelift, I heard I had a nose job, I heard my teeth were fake. Now do I need to go out and get a nose job because you all made me feel like I need one?”
SZA also took the time to discuss her “Slime You Out” collaboration with Drake. The artist, née Solána Imani Rowe, revealed that she thought Drizzy was sabotaging her after he used her demo vocals on the track.
“I just handed in the first draft to Drake, and he’s putting it on his album,” Rowe said. “I’m scared because I handed in second vocals, and he didn’t use that. And now I’m like, ‘Are you trying to sabotage me?’ I know that’s not true. I literally know that’s not true, but that’s how bad I feel about my first draft. When things come from an effortless space, I almost can’t enjoy it.”
SZA opened up about getting a BBL in an interview with Elle in June 2023. The songstress opened up about her procedure, explaining that her decision to get a BBL was all “hers alone.”
“I treat my butt like a purse. It’s just there to enhance whatever else. And that’s why I paid for it: it works all by itself…I always wanted a really fat a** with less gym time. I didn’t succumb to industry pressure. I succumbed to my own eyes in the mirror and being like, ‘No, I need some more a**.'”
The singer hinted that she’d had a Brazilian butt lift on the intro of her SOS album. “Yeah, ni**a, it’s up to me/Remind you of Dеlla Reese/So classic, that a** so fat, it look natural, it’s not/I talk bullsh*t a lot/No more f**k-sh*t, I’m done.”
