Symphony season starts with 'Cowboy Jamboree'
Sep. 21—The Saint Joseph Symphony kicks off its new season with a musical salute to the American West.
"Frank Oden's Cowboy Jamboree" takes the stage at 7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 30, at the Missouri Theater. The show features scenes by Oden, an actor and cowboy poet, with music performed by the symphony interspersed with his act.
Tickets for the performance range from $17 to $45.
The symphony also will have a pre-concert talk for the first time since 2019. It will include a chuck wagon-style meal from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 28, at the Pony Express Museum Community Room. The symphony's music conductor/director, Chris Kelts, will talk about the music included in the program. The deadline to register is Sept. 22. One ticket to the talk is $30 or two tickets can be purchased for $50.
