Sydney Sweeney is currently the most Googled actress in Hollywood. You might be under the impression she’s fairly new on the scene, but the Anyone But You star has a string of top movies to her name.
That’s without even mentioning her stellar TV work, which includes Euphoria, The White Lotus , and The Handmaid’s Tale .

Netflix
Sweeney stars alongside Megan Fox in this vampire slasher dripping with style and sensuality. She plays Eva, a vampire queen Hell bent on overthrowing vampire leader Victor, played by Game of Thrones ’ Alfie Allen.
HBO Films
Based on a true story, Reality stars Sweeney as a U.S. Air Force veteran and former National Security Agency translator who, after getting arrested in 2017, was on the wrong end of the longest prison sentence ever handed out. Her crime: leaking unauthorized government information surrounding the 2016 election to the media.
Amazon MGM Studios
Sweeney is in commanding form in this supernatural thriller. She plays Juliet, a talented pianist suddenly obsessed by a mysterious notebook belonging to a student at her school who killed himself. More mysteriously, however, the book seems to tell events before they happen.
Gravitas Ventures
One of Sweeney’s best horror films, Along Came the Devil is a memorable possession drama. She plays Ashley, a teenager who, severely affected by her mother’s death, attempts to reach out to her by contracting the spirit world. You can probably guess what happens next: she’s possessed by an evil spirit.
Amazon MGM Studios
The Voyeurs is a psychosexual thriller that’s basically like Rear Window meets Love Island. Sweeney is Pippa, one half of a couple addicted to spying on a couple who live across the street. Together with partner Tom (Justice Smith), they get a little too close to their neighbours' lives.
Sony Pictures Releasing
The film that made Sweeney a household name is actually based on William Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing - although obviously retooled and freshened up for a contemporary audience. Her chemistry with the ever-charismatic Glenn Powell (who’s on his own meteoric rise) unfolds over a compelling and hilarious fake-dating scheme.
A24
Sweeney features alongside Andrew Garfield and Topher Grace in this surrealist neo-noir black comedy mystery. Taking place in 2011 Los Angeles, it follows Garfield’s Sam as he investigates the sudden disappearance of his neighbour, played by Riley Keough. Sweeney doesn’t have a big role, but it’s a very watchable part of her filmography all the same.
Neon
The best horror film of Sweeney’s career so far, Immaculate sees the actress play a young nun terrorized by otherworldly forces. After moving to a convent in the Italian countryside to care for elderly nuns, she discovers she’s pregnant despite being a virgin, hence the film’s title referencing Christ’s immaculate conception. There’s nothing immaculate about the macabre scares, however.
Sony
Sweeney is the best part of a bad but incredibly entertaining movie (often unintentionally so) in Madame Web . It’s the first superhero film of her career, and given its poor reception both critically and commercially, probably her last. It’s part of Sony’s Spider-Man universe and tells the story of Cassie (Dakota Johnson), a paramedic who can see into the future. She teams with Sweeney’s Julia to take on dangerous clairvoyant Ezekiel.
Sony Pictures
You’d be forgiven for forgetting Sweeney was actually in Quentin Tarantino’s 2019 drama given it’s star-studded cast which boasts Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt, Margot Robbie, Austin Butler, Margaret Qualley, and Dakota Fanning, but she’s part of the most tense set-piece as a member of Charles Manson’s cult. The film explores the real-life murder of actress Sharon Tate (Robbie) by the Manson family in a changing ‘60s Hollywood.
