'Surviving R. Kelly, Part II': Accuser claims she had 'suicide pact' with singer

Muliptle accusers of R. Kelly are speaking up about their experiences with the singer and the aftereffects they're still facing.
In the second installment of Lifetime's "Surviving R. Kelly, Part II" (Friday, 9 EST/PST), the follow-up to last year's explosive documentary detailing sexual abuse allegations against the R&B star, accuser Jerhonda Pace recalled having a "suicide pact" with the singer.
"With Rob, I was part of a suicide pact," Pace, who first met Kelly when she was underage, said. "And if anything was to happen to him, if he was to go to jail or someone was to harm him, I was supposed to kill myself."
After breaking down in tears, she continued, "When the suicide pact came about, Rob and I (were) in the mirror room, and he told me that if I was everything to him like I say he is, that there would be no life worth living. He said, 'If something happens to me, I want you to take these pills.'.. and I said, 'Are you serious?' And he said, 'Yeah, this is what you do, this is a suicide pact.'"
Dominique Gardner, another accuser, described the conflicted feelings that came with leaving Kelly and the other girls he was involved with when her mother came to get her in May 2018.
"It was very painful for me," she said, before listing effects of her time with Kelly, including having trouble looking or talking to men.
"It was a scary feeling, like... I just broke one of his rules, but I'm like, wait, I'm not with him anymore, so what's to fear?" she said.
Gardner said if you went against Kelly, it was like "you're the enemy, and he's going to treat you like that."
One still-evident punishment: Gardner's haircut. She claims Kelly yanked out some of her hair after she refused to come when he called her.
"He was just like, 'I think you'd look good with short hair... so, just cut it,'" she said.
Gardner declined to comment when asked further about her hair. "There were rumors that Rob wanted you to look more like a boy for a reason, is that true?" an off-camera interviewer asked.
"I prefer not to talk about that," she responded.
A disguised former employee offered a possible reason.
"I was not aware of Robert having attractions to boys until a couple of the girls in the house started to talk about there being a guy that he was involved with that would sometimes come into the bedroom with them," the person said.
Kelly's former hairdresser, Lanita Carter, said she met the singer when she was 24, and recalled how Kelly gained her trust before allegedly pulling her hair and forcing her to perform oral sex on him.
Kelly, 52, has denied all allegations against him. He has already pleaded not guilty to more than a dozen sex-crime charges filed against him in two federal courts and two state courts since February. He is tentatively scheduled to face trial in the federal case in Chicago in April and in the federal case in New York in May, with the state case in Chicago scheduled for September.
"Surviving R. Kelly, Part II: The Reckoning" will conclude on Lifetime Saturday (9 EST/PST).
