Superman & Lois Video: How Did Bitsie Tulloch Feel About Having Her Real-Life Husband Direct ‘Lovey-Dovey’ Scenes With Tyler Hoechlin?
Here’s a crossover that would make any DC fan jealous: Bitsie Tulloch is quite possibly the only person on the planet who can actually say that she’s married to both Superman and Batman.
In addition to playing house with Tyler Hoechlin on The CW’s Superman & Lois, Tulloch is married to David Giuntoli, who has voiced Bruce Wayne (aka the Dark Knight) in several animated projects. If that wasn’t enough, her personal and professional worlds recently collided when Giuntoli came on board to direct the third episode of Superman & Lois’ upcoming final season.

Given that the titular couple’s romantic dynamic is one of the key reasons behind Superman & Lois‘ success, you might think it would be awkward for Tulloch’s real-life husband to have to direct her in a “lovey-dovey” scene with her on-screen hubby, but the actress promises that everyone remained “very professional” throughout the whole experience.
“Not that David gets jealous, but I was like, ‘Don’t joke around in that scene. Let me and Tyler really fall into the dynamic that we have when we’re on set together,'” Tulloch told TVLine’s Keisha Hatchett at San Diego Comic-Con, adding that quite a bit of Giuntoli’s episode is featured in the Season 4 teaser trailer released earlier this week.
Lois has more on her plate than ever in this final season, from taking down Lex Luthor (again) to facing the realities of her ongoing battle with cancer — all while grappling with the supposed “death” of her superhero husband. She’s excited for fans to experience all that’s to come, though she certainly wishes she didn’t have to say goodbye so soon.
“I’d be lying if I said I didn’t want more seasons, and I was certainly anticipating more seasons of the show,” Tulloch admitted. “That said, I’m really grateful to DC Comics and Warner Brothers and The CW for letting us finish the series and letting us give it a proper ending.”
