Supergirl lifts CW ratings
Supergirl made its CW debut Monday night to numbers that were, as expected, below what the show delivered on CBS, yet impressive for The CW.
Supergirl launched its second season to 3 million viewers and a 1.1 rating among adults 18-49. That's the network's most watched show in this particular time period in eight years -- going all the way back to Gossip Girl. But it's also a bit below the last new superhero show debut on the network, The Flash, which opened to 3.7 million viewers and a 1.8 rating two years ago after spinning off from Arrow. Still, Supergirl more than tripled the demo performance of the debut of Crazy Ex-Girlfriend in this slot last year.
Monday freshman class update: CBS' new sitcom em>Kevin Can Wait (8.8 million, 2.1) lost a bit more of its chart-topping Big Bang Theory (14.1 million, 3.3) lead-in, NBC's time-travel drama Timeless (6.5 million, 1.5) ticked down a few more points, and ABC's Conviction (4.7 million, 0.9) remained steady with last week's modest debut.
