'Supergirl' fans get a first look at highly anticipated new villain
This week on Supergirl, Samantha Arias came one step closer to transitioning into the highly anticipated villain of the season, Reign.
Up until now, the show has been taking it super-slow in Samantha’s change from single mother to Supergirl’s most fearsome enemy yet. However, we’re hoping that after the latest cliffhanger, we’ll finally get to see our new supervillain sooner rather than later.
At the end of the episode, titled “The Faithful,” Sam was standing in her bathroom when, all of a sudden, she glanced at herself in the mirror and saw that her skin was covered with symbols. Horrified, Sam then turned around to see a terrifying woman who eerily told her, “From Rao’s fire you are born. One day soon you will reign.” Ruby then came into the hallway after hearing her mother scream, but only saw her mother crouched on the ground alone.
Supergirl then flashed back to 22 hours prior, which showed that the probe Supergirl sent falling through a hole in the ground activated a few mysterious machines, which might have something to do with Samantha’s bathroom encounter.
One thing we do know for sure, Reign looks awesome. Prior to the new episode, Supergirl released this first look at “Reign” on Twitter, a much different and more humanized version than the ruthless Worldkiller fans know from the DC Comics.
