Suits' Gina Torres Reminisces About Roles on Firefly, Alias, Angel and More
When the second half of Suits‘ fifth season bows Wednesday (USA Network, 10/9c), star Gina Torres says, Jessica will wish her perfectly tailored power wardrobe were made of Kevlar.
In other words: The heat that arrives in the wake of her colleague Mike’s arrest will be enough to make even the collected Ms. Pearson sweat a little.
Torres tells TVLine that people often ask why her character didn’t turn in Mike — a practicing lawyer whose big secret is that he never attended law school — when she first learned the truth about him.
“I’ve always said, ‘There was a fire closer to the house. I didn’t have time to deal with that. I was trying to save my firm,'” she says. But in light of recent developments? “Now, the difference is, the house is on fire.”
And even when the blaze has been smoored, Jessica and the rest of the firm will be “a mess,” Torres adds.
“It’s Armageddon. It really is,” she says, chuckling. “I will say that the audience will get no closure by the end of the six [episodes].”
Because Torres is a TVLine fan favorite, we couldn’t let her go before asking her to look back on her career (so far) for our Memories From the Set feature. So click through the gallery below for the actress’ thoughts on mixing it up with Alias‘ Sydney Bristow, serving under Firefly‘s Mal Reynolds, taking part in the insanity that was Cleopatra 2525 and more.
