'Succession' star Brian Cox says co-star Jeremy Strong's acting technique is 'annoying'
Brian Cox is opening up about what it's like to work with his "Succession" co-star Jeremy Strong, who stays in character off camera.
"Oh, it’s (expletive) annoying," Cox said of his co-star's acting technique in an interview with Town & Country, published Tuesday. "Don’t get me going on it."
Cox did note, however, that Strong is "a very good actor."
"He’s still that guy, because he feels if he went somewhere else he’d lose it. But he won’t," Cox continued. "Strong is talented. He’s (expletive) gifted. When you’ve got the gift, celebrate the gift. Go back to your trailer and have a hit of marijuana, you know?"
Cox has previously expressed concern about Strong's intense acting approach. In an interview with GQ that also published Tuesday, Strong discussed Cox's view of his work.
"Everyone's entitled to have their feelings," Strong told the outlet. "Brian Cox, for example, he's earned the right to say whatever the (expletive) he wants."
Strong continued: "I feel a lot of love for my siblings and my father on the show. And it is like a family in the sense that, and I'm sure they would say this, too, you don't always like the people that you love. I do always respect them."

The fourth season of "Succession" will pick up on March 26 on HBO Max. Kendall Roy (Strong), Logan Roy (Cox), Shiv Roy (Sarah Snook) and Roman Roy (Kieran Culkin) dominated the January announcement trailer.
Three seasons in "Succession" remains a critical darling, racking up a series of Emmys last year as well as a Screen Actors Guild Award for the ensemble cast.
