'Stranger Things' Day is coming. What does it mean?
Tuesday is going to be a nail-biter — and not just because of Election Day. Netflix has announced via Twitter that Nov. 6 is Stranger Things Day, a celebration of its hugely popular ’80s throwback sci-fi series. But what exactly does that mean? The video posted by the streaming service reminds viewers that Nov. 6, 1983, is the day that the fictional Will Byers “disappeared” in Season 1. Otherwise the announcement is enigmatic: part teaser, part recap, part fan tribute. Watch it below and see if you can find some hints amid the Demogorgons.

The obvious reason for the Netflix-christened “holiday” would be to premiere Season 3 of Stranger Things, but that’s highly doubtful; the new season began filming in April and was scheduled to finish this month (meaning there’s still editing to do, not to mention all the fancy postproduction VFX work to create the Upside-Down and its supernatural inhabitants). Of course, Netflix has had enough time to produce at least a teaser trailer — so that’s what we’re expecting, along with a possible 2019 premiere date.
Also, for anyone who happens to be in Orlando, Fla., on Tuesday, Universal Studios is doing a one-day-only Stranger Things haunted maze walk-through. Check out Yahoo Entertainment’s first-person look at that spooky attraction below.
Whatever happens on Stranger Things Day, some fans are already planning their celebrations.
