Watch the ‘Straight Outta Compton’ Stars Get Tested on Classic Rap Lyrics
In Straight Outta Compton, newcomers Corey Hawkins, O'Shea Jackson Jr., and Jason Mitchell play N.W.A. members Dr. Dre, Ice Cube, and Eazy-E — three of the most influential rappers of all time. But the three actors were barely out of diapers duing the notorious hip-hop group’s glory days.
So how well do these millennials know their classic hip-hop? That’s what we wanted to find out in the video above, where we set up some classic rap verses by the likes of Notorious B.I.G., 2Pac, Wu-Tang Clan, and A Tribe Called Quest — and saw if the young Compton stars could finish the rest of the lyrics.

The trio did pretty well, even if they only get half-points for finishing a legendary Rakim line with a more current Timbaland/Aaliyah version. And O’Shea (and his castmates) struggled mightily to finish a famous line from Ice Cube — which may not go over so well with his dad, Ice Cube.
