Stassi Schroeder confirms she's pregnant and due in January after 'Vanderpump Rules' firing
Stassi Schroeder confirmed reports on Tuesday she’s expecting her first child with fiancé, Beau Clark. A rep for the reality star said she’s ready for “the next chapter,” one week after she was fired from Vanderpump Rules.
“Stassi and Beau will be welcoming their first child the first week in January and are grateful and eager to begin the next chapter of their lives as parents,” Steve Honig tells Yahoo Entertainment.
Fans won’t be able to follow Schroeder’s journey to motherhood on television. Bravo announced she and Kristen Doute would not return for Season 9 following a resurfaced racist incident with former co-star, Faith Stowers. The popular show, helmed by former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Lisa Vanderpump, recently wrapped its eighth season.
Earlier this month, Stowers recounted during an Instagram Live how Doute and Schroeder called the police on her in 2018. The Daily Mail published an article at the time about a black woman who was drugging and robbing people, and Doute and Schroeder claimed the photo looked like Stowers.
In an interview with Yahoo last week, Stowers called the racial profiling “disgusting,” and said the public portrayal that she was a thief “contributed to my life being in a dark place.”
“I would get phone calls from casting directors that wanted to work with me and the first question they’d have to ask me is if I stole things and if I drugged people," Stowers explained. “So, that was really hard for me, to be associated with that.”
Both Schroeder and Doute publicly apologized to Stowers.
“Racially insensitive comments from my past have resurfaced. It is important that I continue to take accountability for what I have said and done, while pushing myself to do better,” Schroeder wrote on Instagram. “I have grown significantly from the person I was then, and I am still filled with remorse and regret for the hurt I caused... I did not recognize then the serious ramifications that could have transpired because of my actions. What I did to Faith was wrong. I apologize and I do not expect forgiveness.”
Stowers told Yahoo that Schroeder had yet to reach out to her privately, while Doute sent her a direct message several days after the incident made headlines.
Professional repercussions for Schroeder were swift. She was dropped by her agency, UTA, and lost multiple brand deals. Schroeder, a popular podcast host, found success outside of the Bravo world as her book Next Level Basic: The Definitive Basic B**** Handbook became a New York Times bestseller in 2019.
Sources told E! News Schroeder was “an emotional wreck” last week.
“Not only are Stassi and Kristen distraught, several of the other cast members are as well. They know the show will never be the same,” a source shared. “Stassi has been an emotional wreck. She's having a very hard time and has no idea what to do. She feels completely lost and is very disgusted by her actions in the past.”
The insider continued, “Stassi and Kristen have spoken about their actions, and have been in touch about what's going on. They both feel awful about what happened.”
Fans are calling for another original cast member, Jax Taylor, to be fired as he made equally defamatory comments about Stowers. Stowers told Yahoo “it's only fair” he faces similar consequences.
