Stand Atlantic Address Online Abuse On New Single ‘Warzone’
Australian pop-punk band Stand Atlantic have shared their first new music of 2024, a stand-alone single entitled ‘Warzone’. The song was co-written by lead vocalist Bonnie Fraser and the band’s longtime producer, former Dead Love frontman Stevie Knight. In a press statement, Knight explained that the song lyrically channels the frustration she has felt for the abuse both she individually and the band as a whole have faced on social media as their profile has increased.
“I have been advised many times I shouldn’t respond to hate comments online, so I just wrote a song about it instead,” she said. “I think anyone who has experienced negative feedback that isn’t constructive or conducive for a respectful discussion can understand the unrelenting strength it takes to not absolutely rinse someone who has put their hate online and directed it at you.
“This song is just a fantasy for myself and anyone else who wonders what the hell those people would actually do in real life if they would ever say it to your face.”

‘Warzone’ follows on from two new singles the band released in 2023: ‘Kill[h]er’ and ‘Sex on the Beach’. Knight was also enlisted by former Linkin Park co-frontman Mike Shinoda to appear on a live studio recording of his solo track ‘Already Over’ while he was in Australia as part of Bigsound 2023. Other Australian musicians that took part included Polaris‘ Daniel Furnari and Between You and Me‘s James Karagiozis.
