Special guest to perform in Manitowoc Symphony concert that includes Beethoven, Brahms and more
MANITOWOC — A Ukrainian-born pianist will join the Manitowoc Symphony Orchestra during a concert featuring some of the greatest classical music of all time April 13.
The MSO will be joined by internationally acclaimed pianist Stanislava Varshavski, who was born in Kharkov, Ukraine, and was a piano prodigy who made her orchestral debut at age 8. She now serves as director of music education at Holy Family Conservatory of Music in Manitowoc.
The concert starts at 7:30 p.m. on the stage of the Capitol Civic Centre, 913 S. Eighth St.
Featured music includes compositions by Beethoven, Brahms and Rachmaninoff. Varshavski will perform Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 2.

The program also includes Beethoven’s Egmont Overture and Brahms Symphony No. 3.
An Afterglow Party is planned immediately after the concert at the Stage Door Pub, 701 Franklin St., featuring complementary snacks, specialty drinks for sale and other activities.
