Sophie Turner Says She Has a 'Real Urge' to Become a Cop: 'I'm Fascinated with Crime'
Sophie Turner’s post-Game of Thrones plans might surprise you.
During an interview with Dr. Phil McGraw for his podcast Phil in the Blanks, Turner revealed she has a “real urge” to become a police officer.
“I want to do a lot of things, and not just in the film world. At the moment I have a real urge to go to a police academy and become a cop,” she said. “I’m fascinated with crime and why people do things and the interrogation process, and how you can manipulate your words in order to get someone to confess, that’s something that really interests me.”

Along with police work, Turner also said she is interested in studying psychology.
“I’m just really passionate about it,” she said. “I think as an actor as well, it really informs your acting. I’m just fascinated in the study of why people are the way they are.”
“I want to know everything,” she added.

But while her aspirations go far beyond the entertainment industry, Turner isn’t in any rush to achieve those dreams. After wrapping the final season of Game of Thrones, the actress said she took a break from working before embarking on a summer-long press tour.
“I actually am still on my break, I took a break off of work to focus on my mental health because I thought it was important,” she said.

Turner previously said filming season 8 of Game of Thrones took an emotional toll on her.
“I’m just coming to terms with it right now, it’s like a death in the family,” she recently told Harper’s Bazaar UK for her cover story. “I’m losing the character I’ve played so long.”
She added of playing Sansa Stark, “Initially, I didn’t feel there was anything that stayed with me from all the things Sansa went through. But though I think it hasn’t affected me emotionally, I did start thinking about the domestic abuse and rape, and it spurred this little part of me that might be an activist.”
Game of Thrones airs Sunday nights at 9 p.m. ET on HBO.
