Sonic the Hedgehog 3 Trailer – Watch First Preview for New Sonic Film

Our first preview of Sonic the Hedgehog 3 is finally here as Paramount Pictures unveils the first trailer for the upcoming film featuring Ben Schwartz as the voice of the titular video game character.

Joining Schwartz this time are fellow voice cast members Colleen O'Shaughnessey as Tails, Idris Elba as Knuckles, and Keanu Reeves as Shadow.

As for human cast members, we've got familiar faces from Sonic the Hedgehog 2, including Tika Sumpter as Maddie Wachowski, Tom Butler as Commander Walters, James Marsden as Tom Wachowski, Jim Carrey as Dr. Robotnik, and Lee Majdoub as Agent Stone.

They are joined by new cast member Alyla Browne, who will star as Maria.

While details on what's to come from Sonic the Hedgehog 3 have been kept firmly under wraps, this first trailer gives us our first plot details – and a voice reveal confirming Keanu will join the voice cast as Shadow.

The Sonic saga has been a hit for Paramount, with the first film raking in $319.7 million from a reported $90 million budget even after releasing in 2020, with Sonic the Hedgehog 2 beating that, making $405.4 million.

Sonic the Hedgehog 3's budget is rumored to be approximately $120 million.

Whether that'll translate to box office takings is to be confirmed when Sonic the Hedgehog 3 races into theaters on December 20.
