Someone Actually Signed Off On Making A Kim Kardashian Robbery Victim Costume
We’ve seen many costumes that characterize famous pop culture icons at their worst, but this one takes the cake.
In light of Kim Kardashian’s traumatizing robbery in Paris last week, costume site Costumeish posted an outfit tastelessly inspired by the incident. The “Parisian Heist Robbery Victim Kit” is currently being sold online for $69.99. The “kit” does not directly name the pop culture icon but makes sure there is no confusion when listing the pieces. It includes a short white robe, a wig, fake gag, two feet rope, and a “4 million dollar” ring.

“This Halloween it’s all about the #Hallomeme and who better than America’s goddess of all things glamorous ‘Parisian Heist Robbery Victim Costume?’” the item’s caption site reads. “She has devoted her life to promoting American decadence, youth and hedonism but all that flashy living caught up with her one night in Paris when armed men bound her, stole her jewelry and her peace of mind. This Halloween have some fun with pop culture and dress just like the Queen of Social media.”
The “fun” Costumeish founder Johnathon Weeks is hoping for is the same uproar the company faced last year for its’ Caitlyn Jenner and Cecil The Lion costumes he told TMZ Tuesday (Oct. 11). Like expected, the company faced a huge amount of pushback on social media in the matter of tweets and think pieces.
Even if you don’t sympathize with the “Queen of Social Media,” this costume makes a mockery of any woman who has had to experience physical of sexual abuse. Though we have many characters in pop culture, some of us haven’t failed to see the human behind the figure.
