Yang and Sherman star in a new video as fictitious heavy metal band “Naum?re Dandruf,” helping to promote CeraVe’s Hydrating Anti-Dandruff Shampoo and Conditioner, as well as CeraVe’s Gentle Hydrating Shampoo and Conditioner. In the sketch, the SNL actors are seen rehearsing in their garage until their headbanging antics send dandruff flying all over their outfits and equipment (getting “druff on their stuff,” as Sherman laments).
Fortunately, their dermatologist drummer Dr. Portella comes to the rescue, introducing the duo to CeraVe’s Anti-Dandruff Shampoo and Conditioner to help “buff up [the] druff.”

Both Sherman and Yang say they were excited to team up with CeraVe to create one of SNL’s iconic commercial parodies, especially for a hair condition that’s typically not talked about.
“Never thought I’d have fake dandruff flakes fall out of my head while cosplaying as a rockstar, but that’s Hollywood for ya,” Sherman tells Rolling Stone. “While i’m not a headbanger by trade, I do have my fair share of dandruff,” she admits, “but let’s just say; mine looks way worse than that. We had so much fun filming this and legit as a dandruff-haver, I love CeraVe’s new shampoo and conditioner. Crema, my on-set character, certainly could’ve used it!”
“Naumor Dandruf ended up being a perfect, elaborate excuse to hang out and laugh with Sarah,” adds Yang. “We locked into the look and really stepped into the hair metal fantasy, and then Dr. Dustin wrote me a prescription for an ointment I desperately needed! I guess, thank you to CeraVe for saving my life and [for] a fun day on set”
Yang and Sherman’s mock informercial is part of CeraVe’s latest campaign, which also features social media darling, Charli D’Amelio, NBA star, Anthony Davis, and UCONN basketball player Paige Bueckers, who all tout CeraVe’s anti-dandruff shampoo for helping their locks stay smooth, hydrated and flake-free in their busy and active lives.
Dubbed “Head of CeraVe,” the campaign aims to show how dandruff is an easily-treatable condition, thanks to the brand’s new products. Best known for its skincare products, CeraVe’s new haircare line offers dermatologist-developed products, “designed to destigmatize scalp conditions and provide effective solutions.”

CeraVe says one in five Americans suffer from dandruff, but more than 40% leave it untreated. The brand says their anti-dandruff shampoo — formulated with 1% Pyrithione Zinc — effectively eliminates up to 100% of visible flakes while treating related ailments like itchy scalp, product buildup, dry hair and irritation. The shampoo and conditioners are suitable for all hair types, and sensitive scalps.
The new campaign comes on the heels of last year’s CeraVe Super Bowl commercial starring actor Michael Cera. Dubbed the “Michael CeraVe” campaign, the commercial helped to promote CeraVe’s line of mosturizers and cleansers.
