SNL Alum Victoria Jackson Shares Inoperable Cancer Update: ‘I’ve Had a Fantastic Life’
Saturday Night Live alum Victoria Jackson, who was first diagnosed with cancer in 2016 and very recently learned that it had returned, shared on Thursday that she has an inoperable growth in one of her lungs.
Sharing the results of a Tuesday CT scan, Jackson — in what she touted as Episode 11 of her “Is the cancer back?” Instagram video series — said, “They cannot operate and cut out the marble in my chest that is laying on my windpipe, and eventually would suffocate me to death.”

Instead, “they’re giving me a magic pill… based on Ribociclib,” a cancer growth inhibitor, she said, “and it will shrink the marble, hopefully.”
“I looked up the pill on Google, and it says people who take this have 32.6 months to live. Something like that,” she continued (though in the caption alongside the video she suggests “34.8 months to live”).
Jackson, who is age 65 and religious, quoted Psalm 90 as saying that we should live “threescore years and 10,” so she took her back-of-napkin expectancy forecast in stride.
“I’ve had a fantastic life,” she said. And with a look ahead to her time left, she said, “I’d like to see my grandson born — his name is Jimmy — in October, and get to know him a little. And I would like to see my daughter Aubrey have a baby.”
