Simone Biles tour to open new Frontwave Arena in Oceanside this fall

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — The first event coming to the brand-new Frontwave Arena in Oceanside when it opens this fall is Olympic gold medalist Simone Biles’ “Gold Over America Tour.”

Construction on the Frontwave Arena is expected to be finalized in late August, Ryan Keim, the Deputy Mayor of Oceanside, told FOX 5/KUSI on Friday, and the first event scheduled at the new arena is the “Gold Over America Tour (GOAT)” featuring Simone Biles on Sept. 17, 2024.

Fresh off the 2024 summer Olympics in Paris, France, which runs through Aug. 11, Biles, now the most decorated U.S. gymnast of all time, and team, will be taking the show on the road to tour 30 arenas across the United States this fall, starting in Oceanside on Sept. 17 at 7:30 p.m.

Biles, Jade Carey and Jordan Chiles, will be joined by Fred Richard, Brody Malone, Paul Juda, Stephen Nedoroscik and Joscelyn Roberson. They will bring their talents from the world stage to the GOAT tour stage in a “high-flying, pop concert-style spectacle,” the website states. Other cast members joining them on tour include Katelyn Ohashi, Peng-Peng Lee, Mélanie Johanna De Jesus Dos Santos, Casimir Schmidt, and more.

When it opens this year, the Frontwave Arena will be the new home of the NBA G-League San Diego Clippers. The 7,500-capacity venue will also be home to the Major Arena Soccer League’s San Diego Sockers.

In addition to the gymnastics tour and San Diego Clippers and Sockers season games, the new arena is also hosting an NBA pre-season game with the L.A. Clippers taking on the Brooklyn Nets on Oct. 8, Rocktoberfest with Seether, Giovannie and the Hired Guns, The Warning, and Tim Montana on Oct. 12, and Freestyle Explosion on Nov. 2, according to the venue website.
