Shrinking showrunner Bill Lawrence and co-creator and writer Brett Goldstein, who joined the cast of the Jason Segel-led Apple TV+ series in season two, are the first guests on We Disrupt This Broadcast.
Subsequent episodes, released every three weeks, will feature Mo Amer (Mo), Ben Stiller and Adam Scott (Severance), Sharon Horgan (Bad Sisters), Tony Gilroy (Andor) and Jen Statsky (Hacks).
The podcast, distributed by public media organization PRX, is hosted by actor-writer-comedian Gabe González with contributions from Peabody Awards executive director Jeffrey Jones and Center for Media & Social Impact executive director Caty Borum.
We Disrupt This Broadcast focuses on entertainment storytelling tackling pressing issues and leading, disruptive creative voices.
“We are so excited in season two to share more fascinating conversations on topics such as the changing representations on TV of masculinity, immigrants, corporate culture and women in comedy with the writers and showrunners who are disrupting traditional TV narratives in newly creative ways,” Jones said in a statement.
Borum added, “In our culture, we are shaped dramatically by the images and stories and people we see reflected in high-quality entertainment TV, and this podcast brings us deeper into understanding how these shows are made — and why they matter so much.”
Guests on season one of We Disrupt This Broadcast, which premiered in April 2024, included Damon Lindelof (Lost, Watchmen), Quinta Brunson (Abbott Elementary), Bridget Everett and Jeff Hiller (Somebody Somewhere), Ron Nyswaner (Fellow Travelers), Pamela Adlon (Better Things), Charlie Brooker (Black Mirror), Bobby Wilson and Ryan Redcorn (Reservation Dogs) and Judy Blume.
The Peabody Awards previously announced that its 2025 awards ceremony would return to Los Angeles on June 1. The 2025 Peabody Awards nominees will be announced in April, with winners revealed in May.
