Shane Gillis Tries to Help Sell Tires In Trailer for New Netflix Comedy
Comedian Shane Gillis has a scripted workplace comedy revving up at Netflix.
Netflix in February ordered six episodes of Tires, a single-camera comedy that follows Will (Delco Proper‘s Steven Gerben), a nervous and unqualified heir to an auto repair chain, who attempts to turn his father’s business around despite constant torture from his cousin and now employee, Shane (Gillis).

Gillis serves as an executive producer, writer and co-creator of the show, which is set to release on the streaming giant Thursday, May 23.

Tires (which is based on a pilot concept previously posted on YouTube) also stars Chris O’Connor and Kilah Fox (both from the online sketch series Gilly and Keeves), stand-up/podcaster Stavros Halkias and Andrew Schulz (You People).
The Netflix seres order came less than 48 hours after Gillis made his Saturday Night Live hosting debut, which earned an average TVLine reader grade of “D.”
Gillis infamously was originally announced as a new SNL cast member in 2019 (along with Chloe Fineman and Bowen Yang), but when clips from a podcast appearance — in which he went knee-deep into racism against Asians, transphobia, and misogyny — made the rounds, the sketch series retracted its offer. Only to years later invite him to host.
