Serena Williams’ Baby Adira Proves It’s Never ‘Too Early’ To Be a Tennis Champ in an Adorable Courtside Video
Got a toddler tyrant on the loose? The best way to deal with it is to harness their energy in a more productive way — say, by running around a tennis court! Serena Williams brought her baby Adira to do just that in an adorable new video, and the 14-month-old just proved it’s never “too early” to start training to be a future GOAT.
The 23-time Grand Slam Champion posted a sweet new video with her youngest daughter, who she shares with husband Alexis Ohanian, on Instagram. “When’s too early? @adiraohanian,” she quipped in the caption, tagging her daughter’s official account. In the clip, Williams is dressed in black athletic clothes as she walks around with a tennis racket in one hand and tries to keep up with her daughter, who is dressed in a white tank top and black leggings.

Adira picks up a tennis ball and instead of putting it in the basket her mom is holding, she turns and throws it at the wall before running off the court. “She was doing it, now we turn the camera she don’t wanna do it,” Williams says about the little girl, making her 7-year-old daughter Olympia laugh. From behind the camera, Olympia also shouts her cute nickname for her baby sis: “Deery!” Um, obsessed!
The Reddit co-founder jokingly commented on the post, “She better be doing her drills…” The Olympics official account also shared a comment on the former Olympian’s video. “?? cute! ??” Definitely! They added, “and never too early to inspire with sport. ??”
“The next 2 sisters ?? The Ohanian’ sisters,” someone else commented, referring to the famous sister duo of Serena and Venus Williams. That sure would be adorable.
For now, though, Adira is definitely keeping her mom busy. “My life is very different now. Instead of chasing balls, I’m chasing #Adira and helping #Olympia with tennis lessons and cooking. (And, all this is in-between Venture Capital calls),” she captioned a video on TikTok recently, showing a snapshot of her day that involved playing with toys, bike riding, and cooking for Adira. We’re exhausted just watching her!
In an interview with Byrdie in April, the Wyn Beauty founder shared how she wants her daughters to view her career as they get older. “I want my daughters to look at my career and learn that being authentic to themselves is really the most important thing,” she said. “You don’t have to be the best as long as you do your best. I also hope my daughters see how many different passions I have — from tennis to beauty — and learn that they can lead dynamic careers and lives across their many interests.”
