“After 4 seasons we got our first award as a cast!!! Steve, Marty you deserve this more than I do,” Gomez posted on Instagram. “You guys have shaped the character I play on our show.”
Gomez continued, “John Hoffman, you brilliant man. Jess Rosenthal, Dan Fogelman and every single human on our crew that ever was or is. Last night was one I will never ever forget. Thank you @hulu and @sagawards for this unreal moment that I will cherish with my only murders family!”
It was a big night for Short, as earlier in the night, he had won his first SAG Award in the Male Actor in a Comedy category for his role as Oliver Putnam in the Hulu series.
Short was a no-show at the award ceremony after contracting Covid following an appearance at SNL50.
Martin was also not at the event “due to a previous conflict in his schedule,” his reps said.
A visibly shocked Gomez took the stage at the Shrine to accept the show’s award, saying, “We never win, this is so weird.”
Gomez also joked about her co-stars not being at the SAG Awards, saying, “Marty and Steve aren’t here because… you know, they don’t really care.”
Gomez was joined on stage by Only Murders in the Building regular Michael Cyril Creighton as well as Kumail Nanjiani, Molly Shannon, who also was at SNL50, and Richard Kind.
