See Game of Thrones' Kit Harington in new Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare trailer
Game of Thrones star Kit Harington is stepping out of the hero role and into that of a futuristic villain in the new trailer for Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare.
A preview for the long-running first-person shooter franchise released Thursday provides background on the upcoming story. In the distant future, Lieutenant Nick Reyes heads the Retribution, one of Earth’s last remaining warships, after the planet's resources have been depleted. Space trade and travel are governed by the UNSA, with governments and businesses forced to find new areas of the solar system to build new outposts. A glimpse of the Settlement Defense Front leader, played in motion capture by Harington, reveals he and his off-world insurgents plan to control the solar system themselves by any means necessary.
New that the HBO series star was joining the video game as the villainous lead came in June, however his character’s role and influence on the story were kept under wraps. Harington’s performance was delivered using motion capture technology, similar to Kevin Spacey’s role in Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare.
Despite the franchise beginning in a historical World War II, Infinite Warfare continues the futuristic setting created from Advanced Warfare in 2014.
