Sarah Jessica Parker and Jennifer Hudson Have a “Sex and the City: The Movie” Reunion in Paris
Jennifer Hudson captioned a photo of her ‘Sex and the City’ costar in front of the Eiffel Tower: “Carrie and Louise reunited at last!”
Sarah Jessica Parker and Jennifer Hudson are having a reunion in the city — Paris, that is.
The two actresses, who starred together in the 2008 hit Sex and the City: The Movie, were seen together in the City of Light recently to celebrate the 2024 Summer Olympic Games.
“Look who I ran into in Paris,” Hudson, 42, captioned a photo of the two of them in front of the lit-up Eiffel Tower on her X account (formerly Twitter) and Instagram. The stars have their arms around each other in the shot, with Hudson in a fuzzy lavender coat and Parker, 59, in a denim dress and dark cardigan.
Referencing their characters in the movie, the Dreamgirls Oscar winner wrote, “Carrie and Louise reunited at last! Love is the thing, you know! ?? #SATC”

Parker starred as sex columnist Carrie Bradshaw in six seasons of HBO’s Darren Star-created Sex and the City, based on Candace Bushnell's New York Observer column, from 1998 to 2004. The 2008 movie brought back the cast — Parker, Kim Cattrall as Samantha Jones, Kristin Davis as Charlotte York, Cynthia Nixon as Miranda Hobbes and Chris Noth as Mr. Big — and introduced Hudson as Carrie’s personal assistant Louise, who at one point in the movie says, “I'm not going to give up on love. Love is the thing, you know?”
Their reunion coincides with the apparent closing of New York City's Astor Place Starbucks, where the Sex and the City: The Movie scene in which Louise interviews to be Carrie's assistant was filmed.
Many characters from the franchise continued on in 2010’s movie Sex and the City 2, as well as HBO Max’s ongoing sequel series And Just Like That… which began in 2021. A prequel series on The CW, The Carrie Diaries, starred AnnaSophia Robb as Carrie.

Hudson shared further glimpses of her trip to Paris on her social media, including posing with the Eiffel Tower solo and singing in the Chateau de Versailles. “Bonjour, Paris!!! Let the games begin! #Paris2024 #Olympics,” the Jennifer Hudson Show host tweeted.
The actress most recently starred in the sci-fi thriller Breathe. Parker, meanwhile, continues to act in and executive produce And Just Like That… alongside Davis, 59, and Nixon, 58.
