Rosie O’Donnell seen filming ‘And Just Like That’ Season 3 for the first time

Rosie O’Donnell was spotted filming scenes for “And Just Like That” for the first time on Friday.
The comedian, 62, and Cynthia Nixon got to work in front of the cameras in Times Square.
O’Donnell wore a “Wicked” musical T-shirt with the Playbill tucked in her fanny pack. She also had on a pair of blue jeans and grey sneakers.
Nixon, 58, wore a green dress and purple heels. She carried a small bag of candy in her hands.
The pair shared an Instagram photo from their time on the show’s set on Saturday.
“A Wicked good night in Times Square,” the caption read.
It was announced on May 2 that O’Donnell was cast in Season 3 of the “Sex and the City” revival series.
She’s playing a character named Mary.
“Here comes Mary #andjustlikethat @hbo,” O’Donnell wrote on Instagram alongside a photo of herself with long, gray hair to announce her casting.
Fans have speculated that Mary might be a new love interest for Nixon’s character, Miranda Hobbes.
In the first two seasons of the show, Miranda was romantically involved with the controversial character Che Diaz, played by Sara Ramirez.
But Ramirez’s exit from the series was revealed in February.
At the time, an insider told the Daily Mail, “Sara was fired because Che brought nothing to the show anymore. After Che split with Miranda, the character really held no value anymore and fans found them annoying.”
Nixon finally broke her silence on Ramirez leaving the show in an interview with Variety published last week.
“They created such an amazing character — such a controversial character, but such an amazing character,” Nixon said.
“They came in and shook everything up, and then the arc was completed.”
Che, a queer nonbinary podcaster comedian, prompted Miranda to divorce Steve (David Eigenberg) while the two shared a steamy romance.
Ramirez, who is nonbinary, previously made it clear that they knew their character was unpopular.
“I’m very aware of the hate that exists online,” they told the New York Times.
“But I have to protect my own mental health and my own artistry. And that’s way more important to me because I’m a real human being.”
They continued, “In real life, there are a lot of different human beings who show up to the table, speaking truth to power in myriad ways. And they all land differently with different people. And Che Diaz has their own audience that they speak to who really get a kick out of what they’re doing.”
The cast of “And Just Like That” confirmed that Season 3 started production at the beginning of May.
Nixon is returning alongside Sarah Jessica Parker, Kristin Davis, Nicole Ari Parker, Sarita Choudhury, Katerina Tannenbaum and Mario Cantone.
Karen Pittman’s departure from the show was announced in March. After playing professor Nya Wallace for two seasons she had to exit “AJLT” due to scheduling conflicts.
Season 3 of “AJLT” is expected to premiere in 2025.
