Rosie O’Donnell joins ‘And Just Like That’ Season 3 — who is she playing?
Here comes Rosie!
Rosie O’Donnell announced she’s joining the cast of “And Just Like That” for Season 3.
The actress and comedian, 62, shared an Instagram photo of the script for Season 3, Episode 1 of the “Sex and the City” revival series on Wednesday.
The script reveals that O’Donnell is playing a character named Mary and the episode, titled “Outlook Good,” is written and directed by Michael Patrick King.
“Here comes Mary #andjustlikethat @hbo,” O’Donnell captioned her post, which also included a photo of herself with long, gray hair.
Season 3 of “And Just Like That” has officially begun production, as revealed by lead star Sarah Jessica Parker on Wednesday.
Parker, 59, shared a photo of the scripts for the first two episodes, tagging her co-stars Kristin Davis, Cynthia Nixon, Nicole Ari Parker, Sarita Choudhury, Katerina Tannenbaum and Mario Cantone.
“Here. We. Go. X, SJ,” Parker wrote in her Instagram caption.
Two of Parker’s former co-stars will be missing from Season 3: Sara Ramirez and Karen Pittman.
Ramirez’s exit from the series was revealed in February after playing the controversial character Che Diaz for the first two seasons.
On Feb. 27, an insider told the Daily Mail, “Sara was fired because Che brought nothing to the show anymore. After Che split with Miranda, the character really held no value anymore and fans found them annoying.”
Pittman’s departure from the show was announced in March. After playing professor Nya Wallace for two seasons she had to exit “AJLT” due to scheduling conflicts.
“It has been a joy to have Karen Pittman play the smart and stunning Professor Nya Wallace on the first two seasons of ‘And Just Like That,’ ” a spokesperson for Max told Deadline at the time.
“AJLT” premiered in December 2021 and has gotten a mixed response from fans.
Parker, Davis and Nixon all returned to reprise their roles. Kim Cattrall, however, turned down the offer, although she did make a brief cameo as Samantha Jones in the Season 2 finale.
Season 3 of “AJLT” is expected to premiere in 2025.
