Ron Burgundy Slams The Dodge Durango On 'Conan'
Fans hoping to see Will Ferrell on "Conan" sort of got him. Ferrell showed up, but he was completely in character as Ron Burgundy from the "Anchorman" films. As you might expect, it was hilarious. Perhaps a little surprising, though, was Burgundy's take on those awesome Dodge commercials he did.
When Conan O'Brien mentioned that Dodge Durango sales have gone up 59 percent since the commercials started airing, Burgundy replied, "Pretty incredible, pretty amazing. And what’s so amazing about it is, it’s a terrible car.” He went on to say that he drove one four feet before it broke in half. "Just horrible craftsmanship." Looks like those may be the first and last batch of commercials Burgundy does for the manufacturer.
Andrea Reiher of Zap2It was cracking up over the interview, especially when Burgundy broke into Loverboy's "Working For the Weekend" in support of embattled Toronto mayor Rob Ford's reelection. Burgundy is back at it on the big screen in "Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues," in theaters December 20.
