Rodney Atkins Drops Remix of Single 'Caught Up in the Country' with Dutch DJ Sam Feldt

Rodney Atkins has teamed up with Sam Feldt for an exciting new remix of his 2018 hit “Caught Up in the Country” — and you can check out the lyric video above.

In a press release, the country star, 49, says he was in Europe when he had the idea to create a dance version of the song and decided to join forces with the Dutch DJ.

“Working with a guy as talented as Sam Feldt is one of those things you never really think is possible,” he says in a statement. “One of the greatest things about music today is that we can try things that would have not been possible in the past, and together explore and expose the music we make to people that would have never had the chance to hear it in the past.”

While most fans wouldn’t automatically pair country music with electro dance-pop, Feldt says he was initially intrigued by the project. “As you can clearly see looking at my discography, I like to collaborate with unusual artists and instrumentalists — and this collaboration was no different.” While he says that the marriage between the two styles was definitely a “challenge” he insists that it was “definitely a fun one.”

The song is the title track for Atkins’ upcoming fifth studio album, Caught Up in the Country, which will hit shelves on May 10. Atkins himself will hit the stage even sooner, kicking off a U.S. tour on March 1 in Denver, CO.
