‘The River’ Review: Jeremy Gerard On Hugh Jackman’s Flow
Hugh Jackman is ‘The Man,” and every bit the giant star in The River, Jez Butterworth’s absorbing conundrum of a new play. As I say in my video review above, every audience member is the better for it.
The play also stars Cush Jumbo and Laura Donnelly, in different iterations of “The Woman” character. It’s directed by Ian Rickson.
If you’re a theater type, you’ll want to check out my review, and check out this play, though tickets for the small Broadway venue where it’s playing are selling quickly. Let us know what you think. Do you want to see his performance?
