Rings of Power: Sauron and Galadriel Clash (Again) in New Season 2 Trailer — Watch
Sauron may be a powerful Dark Lord, but he’s a powerful Dark Lord who does not handle rejection well.
That is apparent in a new trailer for The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, which sees him clashing with Galadriel, who rebuked his offer to rule together in the Season 1 finale. And after being ousted from Mordor by Adar (which we’ll learn all about in new episodes), it looks like he’ll cozy up to Celebrimbor in Eregion — much to the latter’s detriment.

The above sneak peek also gives us a glimpse at the upcoming three-episode battle between the elves and orcs, fan-favorite book character Tom Bombadil’s (played by The Diplomat’s Rory Kinnear) live-action debut, and a few of the terrifying and mystical creatures set to appear. (They include a young Shelob, the Balrog, an army of Barrow-wights and Damrod the Hill-troll.)
Season 2 — premiering Thursday, Aug. 29 on Prime Video — finds Sauron working to rebuild his strength and oversee the creation of the Rings of Power, which will allow him to “bind all the peoples of Middle-earth to his sinister will,” per the official synopsis.
As previously reported, Sam Hazeldine (Peaky Blinders) replaces Joseph Mawle as the villainous Adar, leader of the orcs. Additionally, Ciarán Hinds (Rome, Game of Thrones) will portray the Dark Wizard, while Tanya Moodie’s (The Man Who Fell to Earth) role remains undisclosed. Plus, Nazanin Boniadi will not return as the human healer Bronwyn, though Bronwyn’s son Theo (Tyroe Muhafidin) is set to appear.
