Ricky Martin Makes Rare Public Appearance With His Teenage Twin Sons
Ricky Martin performed in Philly on Monday night during the star-studded Election Day eve rally for democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris outside the Philadelphia Museum of Art. And the singer, 52, brought his twin sons Matteo and Valentino along to witness the historic moment.
Martin was one of several celebrities who appeared at the rally, including Lady Gaga, the Roots, hip hop artist Fat Joe, music producer DJ Jazzy Jeff, R&B singer Jazmine Sullivan, and Oprah Winfrey. Gaga performed a moving rendition of "God Bless America" from behind a piano.
"History class for my boys," Martin captioned an Instagram photo of himself, the two 15-year-olds, and Harris. "Such a pleasure to perform at her rally in Philadelphia. Don’t forget to vote familia."
Martin welcomed his twin boys in 2008, who were born via gestational surrogacy. "Adoption was one option, but it’s complicated and can take a long time," he said at the time. "Surrogacy was an intriguing and faster option. I thought, 'I’m going to jump into this with no fear.'"
In January 2018, Martin revealed that he had secretly married Syrian-Swedish painter Jwan Yosef, and the couple welcomed two more children together; a daughter, Lucia Martin-Yosef, born in December 2018, and a son, Renn Martin-Yosef, born in early 2022. It's unclear whether his two younger children attended the rally, but in either case his older sons were there for a night to support their dad.
