Richard Gere, 70, and wife Alejandra Gere, 36, are expecting second child together
Richard Gere, at age 70, is going to be a dad for the third time.
The Chicago actor’s 36-year-old wife, Alejandra Gere (née Silva), is expecting their second child, Yahoo Entertainment has confirmed with a source close to the couple. The baby is due in the spring.
The news, first reported by HOLA! magazine, follows the birth of the couple’s first child, Alexander, in February.
The Geres, who married in 2018, both have children from previous relationships. The actor is a dad to Homer, 19, with second wife Carey Lowell, while the Spanish publicist has a 6-year-old son, Albert, with ex-husband Govind Friedland.
The couple, who share a passion for humanitarian work, began dating in 2014. They were married privately in a civil ceremony in early 2018 and had a larger event for family and friends in May 2018.
Gere told The Times U.K. earlier this year that when he met his future bride in Italy, the connection was “instant from my side. I instantly became happy just looking at her. It was one of those powerful things.”
As for whether he’s a hands-on dad, he said, “Oh yes. I’m there.”
