This RHOSLC Merch is as Cute as Lisa Barlow's "Besos" Party From the Premiere
The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City Season 5 premiere opened with a party hosted by Lisa Barlow, because, of course it did.
"With Valentine's Day right around the corner, I got the idea to throw my own version of a Valentine's Day party," the Vida Tequila founder explained in her interview. "I'm calling [it] 'Besos' to give little kisses to all of my girlfriends to remind them that I love them," said Lisa, making a heart symbol with her hands to the camera. Then, she added with a cheeky smile, "Some more than others."
The guest list would be "all girls, no boys," as she informed Angie Katsanevas and Heather Gay in a flashback to two weeks before the event. Lisa also revealed that she was "kind of on the fence" about extending an invite to Whitney Rose, though she ultimately did.
She also encouraged the ladies to bring plus-ones. This all-are-welcome approach meant the lavish fete was the perfect opportunity for viewers to meet new 'Wife Brownyn Newport, as well as Britani Bateman and Meili Workman, who will make appearances as part of the friend group throughout the season.

One of the most surprising aspects of the afternoon? Bronwyn's designer coat. But another one was undoubtedly the newfound friendship between Angie and Mary Cosby. As each described in an interview, they developed an IRL friendship when the cameras went down thanks to The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alumna Kathy Hilton.
In Mary's own words: "Life is weird."
The women came dressed to impress, and guests enjoyed rock candy cocktails and nibbles as they mingled outdoors at the scenic Lodge at Blue Sky Ranch.

Not everything was as serene as it looks, though: By the heating lamps, things got fiery. Britani's accidental faux pas made Bronwyn and Mary skeptical of the theater professional. When Meredith Marks approached Whitney across the party, she didn't hesitate to tell her that she felt Whitney had been impinging on her brand. When that conversation didn't resolve itself, Angie stepped in for her turn.
In what has to be an RHOSLC hall of fame moment, the salon owner produced an enormous scroll (yes, exactly the old-timey thing you're picturing) from her handbag and began to list the "things [she'd] like an apology for" from Meredith.
If the 'Wives know how to do one thing, it's memorably air their grievances.

The host attempted to smooth things over before everyone went inside the rustic-chic venue for dinner. "I love having my girlfriends. I love getting us all together," Lisa addressed the group. She mentioned that with Jack on his mission and husband John traveling, having girlfriends to "lean on" during this period meant so much.
Did that stop things from popping off at the dinner table? No, it did not. Angie and Meredith still had words for each other, and despite Bronwyn's best efforts, Angie was unwilling to move on. Whitney and Lisa had a tense conversation about Whitney's appearance on a podcast earlier that month, and Angie's possible involvement in their conflict was revealed. This led to an exchange between Angie and Lisa, before Lisa, Meredith, and Heather heatedly questioned whether Whitney is always as honest as she claims.
"If you want me to be your villain, I'll be your villain," said the Besos party host. Seemingly tired of this dynamic, Whitney and Angie walked out of the dinner.
To think think this was the RHOSLC Season 5 premiere! We've only just begun.
