Reporter gets licked on live TV and Twitter is disgusted: 'This guy should be charged'
During a town hall event at a Toronto comedy club, Canadian Broadcasting Company (CBC) reporter Chris Glover had an unexpected visitor in his live shot — who licked him and kissed his neck.
Afterwards Glover said he felt humiliated by the incident with the man, identified as Saskatchewan-born actor and comedian Boyd Banks.
Recordings of the full segment made the rounds on Twitter, leaving viewers horrified and disgusted.
I just saw this. I hope the police are looking for this guy. You do not get to touch, kiss or lick reporters. It’s not funny or cute. Journalists are not your property or there for your pleasure or entertainment. I’m so sorry you experienced this @chrisgloverCBC https://t.co/Hh6Pm1E0Vz

No one should be harassed like this while trying to do their job. I’m sorry Glover had to endure this.

This is disgusting. Sorry you had to go through this, Chris. I also can’t believe none of the bystanders did anything. Surely someone there could tell what was happening, no?

Disgusting, dirty old comedian sexually harasses a reporter on live TV. Come on, @CBC, DO SOMETHING and make an example of this creep. https://t.co/3t7MSL6wVf

This is beyond gross and disturbing. It’s assault. @chrisgloverCBC you are a true professional for handling that so calmly.

Great to see so many people supporting this reporter here. Please remember to do that when the same thing happens to women.

Banks has since apologized, saying there’s “no excuse” for his behavior. Glover said he reported the incident to police and told CBC radio he is doing fine and has a great support system.
“I think in his mind, he was trying to be funny. That’s the only thing that I can assume,” Glover said of Banks. “But I felt humiliated. I felt embarrassed and I felt I just wanted it to stop.”
