‘Real Housewives of Potomac’ Star Ashley Darby Sparks in Glamorous René Caovilla Snake Wrap Honey Heel While in New York City
“Real Housewives of Potomac” star Ashley Darby stepped out in New York City on Wednesday night looking glam. The television personality wore a full length fur coat to stave off the cold. Under the coat she wore a nude toned mini skirt.
For footwear, Darby chose one of Hollywood’s staple glam sandals: Rene Caovilla’s Cleo. Darby’s was the Cleo Honey sandal featuring crystal embellishment. The base of the shoe is beige and is studded with hand-applied rhinestones along the stiletto as well as through the straps. Made in Italy, it includes the signature serpent wrapping around the ankle as well as the now signature stardust sole. The heel stands at about four inches.

Caovilla is currently selling the shoe for $1,260.
Rene Caovilla is one of the oldest luxury footwear brands, tracing its origins back almost a century. Its Cleo style is a design that goes back more than 50 years. It is typified by its coiling design which was inspired by a serpent bangle that that the namesake saw at the National Archaeological Museum in Naples. Since then, the shoe has been sported by the likes of Rihanna, Emily Ratajakowski and more. Each Cleo sandal reportedly takes two days to create.
It has even spun off other designs like the Margot which was introduced in 2021. The Margot’s spiraling design extends to snake around the stiletto itself.
Another signature detail of Caovilla heels is the sole. Since 2008, the company has used its glittering soles as a calling card. That makes it a part of a key group of labels who do such: Christian Louboutin uses red soles while Santoni uses orange. Caovilla’s soles make it a perfect fit for talent like Saweetie, the “Icy” rapper who has often been spotted in the label’s designs.
