Racheal Lynn Davis, better known as RaeLynn, traveled from Nashville, Tennessee to Fort Smith to perform at the Mayor's Fourth of July celebration.
RaeLynn said she was excited to be in town and that her friends, country music artists Dan and Shay had family in the area.
She had her hair done at the Harper Ellis Salon and Extension Bar before the show.
The Times Record had the chance to catch up with Davis before she took the stage.
"I personally love doing Fourth of July shows, Fourth of July is my favorite holiday ever," RaeLynn said. "We were approached by the mayor and I just felt so honored."
RaeLynn's career highlights include performing at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, Tennessee, opening for Maren Morris’ Girl: The World Tour and joining Garth Brooks, Keith Urban, Florida Georgia Line, Kane Brown, Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton on tour.
"My favorite thing about country music is my fans," she said. "The fans never get old. They're always there, they come to support. They buy the T-shirt, they sing songs and it just means the world to me."
RaeLynn's record, "Baytown" released last year, recently hit 100 million streams online.
"I wrote it about my hometown, Baytown, Texas," she said. "That record I'm really proud of. It's all the songs I wrote, I've only released one song ever that I hadn't written. But I'm really, really proud of it."
RaeLynn and her husband Joshua welcomed their daughter Daisy in September, 2021.
As a traveling star and mother, she said the fans keep her motivated to keep making music.
"The fact that, you know how you just know what you're meant to do in the world," she said. "I know that I'm meant to sing music and perform and travel, that's what my purpose is. To be alive, any way that I can and make a difference. Hopefully, I make some kind of difference, that's where my heart's always been with what I do."
To fans, she has done just that.
Over 30,000 videos have been made on TikTok with RaeLynn's song "She Chose Me," a tribute to her mother's pregnancy journey with her.
She invited fans to submit their personal pregnancy journey videos with the hashtag #SheChoseMe to a link in her profile bio, which would compile the clips into one.
At Mayor McGill's Fourth of July celebration, RaeLynn gave her fans in the audience fist bumps and took the time to take selfies and sign T-shirts after the show.
She continues to show her heart through her music and warm personality.
