See (and color) images from the new 'Squid Game' coloring book (exclusive)
Netflix's viral series Squid Game has left some indelible images in viewer's heads. Will we ever be able to look at a doll the same way again?
And now, the deadly serious story of financially broke adults playing children's games in the hopes of winning a fortune, is back to child's play. The South Korean action drama is the subject of a new coloring book, which landed in bookstores Sept. 5.

Above is the super creepy doll that kicked off the competition, when she hosted that deadly game of Red Light, Green Light. It was when everyone, including Seong Gi-hun (played by Lee Jung-jae, who won an Emmy for his performance) suddenly understood just what was happening.
The transparent piggy bank hanging from the ceiling kept our hero and his eventual allies, including Oh Il-nam (Oh Yeong-su), Cho Sang-woo (Park Hae-soo) and Kang Sae-byeok (Hoyeon), focused on how much they stood to win if they could only survive.
Like The Shining, Labyrinth and others before it, Squid Game used mazes to remind the audience that it was never clear what was ahead.
The terrifying games but also the gorgeous visuals had a hand in making Squid Game not one of but the most watched show in the streamer's history. Netflix reported, per Variety, that, in the 28 days after its premiere, it was viewed for 1.65 billion hours — equivalent to more than 182,000 years.
The glass bridge challenge is one of the biggest nail-biters of them all. Every last detail, down to the lights running along the wall and ceiling, is included on the coloring pages.
The terrifying saga of hundreds of financially down-on-their-luck contestants risking death to pay off their debts was nominated for 14 Emmys overall, and it won six. The second season is expected some time in 2024.
