Puma Celebrates the Long-Awaited ‘Squid Game’ Season Two With a Trio of Sneakers
The three-year long wait between seasons one and two of “Squid Game” is finally set to come to an end December 26, and when that day comes you’ll be able to wear Puma sneakers made in collaboration with the blockbuster Korean Netflix series.
The “Squid Game” x Puma collection features three classic models in the Suede, Palermo and Easy Rider, each of which gets a distinct treatment. Most vibrant of the trio is the Suede, which takes on yellow, blue and two shades of pink across its multi-texture suede upper. It’s modeled after the show’s disorienting chamber of staircases, which are depicted on the graphic insole.

An emerald green Easy Rider with maroon accents borrows the former color from the competitors’ uniforms, and a removable rubber keychain features The Doll wearing the very same shoes. Her front and rear grace the mismatched insoles, the former of which shows her deadly laser eyes glowing.
Rounding out the footwear assortment is a white and burnt orange Palermo, which may count the cookie challenge as its source material. An animated graphic featuring several contestants appears on the insole, and another with a guard added appears beneath the Palermo-branded flap at mid-foot.
Crocs is also releasing limited-edition Classic Clogs in collaboration with “Squid Game,” but the most famous shoe association with the show is the all-white Vans Slip-On worn by each of the contestants. In the month following the show’s premiere, searches for the crisp sneakers spiked 97 percent.
The Squid Game x Puma Suede and Easy Rider have both been confirmed for a Thursday, December 12, release through Puma’s website and select third-party retailers. Pricing for the Suede is set at $90 and the Easy Rider $110. The Palermo is also expected to release at the same time for $100 but has not been officially announced.
