Princess Charlotte Just Lost Her Stylish Title to an American ‘Princess'
We never thought we’d see the day come, but Princess Charlotte has been dethroned. The 9-year-old royal just lost her coveted title of most stylish child celebrity. Despite her regal dresses, jeweled headpieces (plus heirloom tiaras down the line?), and perfectly-tailored peacoats (that she loves to rewear), the daughter of Prince William and Kate Middleton has been bested by another “royal.”
We’ve said it before, and we’ll say it again: The closest things the United States has to royalty are the Kennedys and the Kardashians. So it’s only fitting that a member of one of these highly-regarded (or, should we say, highly obsessed over) families is the one to steal the crown.

Hello! is reporting that — based on a study that analyzed celebrity kids who generate the highest number of fashion-related Google searches, the highest number of Google articles, and the highest engagement rates on social media — North West is the most stylish celebrity kid. Or, at the very least, she’s the celebrity kid whose style people are most interested in.
Given North’s larger social media presence and her involvement in the 30th-anniversary live concert special of The Lion King, we’re not surprised people are increasingly interested in the 11-year-old’s fashion choices.
And yet, it’s so astounding to us that North and Charlotte are neck-and-neck when their style is the definition of the proverbial apples and oranges. They both have beyond-enviable closets, but Princess Charlotte’s regalia at historic occasions and posh looks for more casual outings with her parents are practically at the opposite end of the fashion spectrum from North’s designer streetwear. Can we really compare these looks from across the pond?
Also, can we all just take a moment to imagine if they swapped styles for a day? Even though they are both so cute in whatever they wear, our brains just can’t compute!
As for the rest of the Top 5, Princess Charlotte’s older brother Prince George is ranked No. 3, her younger brother Prince Louis is No. 5, and Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s daughter Blue Ivy Carter is No. 4.
If the boys are surprising to you, don’t forget that Prince Louis made headlines this year when his fashion choices broke longstanding royal tradition. For Christmas, the 6-year-old wore a — wait for it — full suit. Typically, men in the royal family don’t start wearing suits until they are 7, per Hello!
And then, is it really any wonder that people are interested in a future king’s wardrobe and the style of Queen Bey’s daughter? I guess we should really add a third royal family to the U.S. list.
