Prince William Reveals Prince George Has Joined a Second Dynasty & It’s So Fitting
Prince George is creating an alliance that is bound to have national implications. And no, that’s not outlandishly dramatic. The 10-year-old has officially chosen a soccer team, and you just know whatever team is in his favor is bound to see a spike in ticket prices. Perhaps it won’t be quite as dramatic as the increase in Travis Kelce’s jersey sales after rumors started swirling about his romance with Taylor Swift … but still!
After a fun father-son outing last night, Prince William revealed that his oldest is in fact a fan of Aston Villa. But that might be putting it too lightly. The second in line to the throne is not just a fan. He has joined another dynasty. He has joined “the pride” — AKA the group of true devotees.

Sports reporter Neil Moxley spoke to Prince William after the game and shared their cute exchange on X. Moxley started by asking the Prince of Wales if he was happy with the 2-1 score of the game. “Two-nil would have been better …” William said cheekily.
“Is George now part of the pride?” Moxley asked.
“Oh yes, he’s loving it.”
Part of the British Royal Family. And part of the Aston Villa Pride! It makes sense he’d be following in his father’s soccer-loving footsteps.
But life hasn’t been all fun and [soccer] games for the young prince. Sources claim that given grandfather King Charles III and mom Kate Middleton’s cancer diagnoses, William and Kate are working even harder to make sure their elementary schooler is prepared for the throne.
“The family’s been through a lot of changes lately, and it’s naturally led to conversations about George’s future duties,” an insider told Life & Style Magazine. “They’re helping him comprehend the situation better [and understand] what is and will be expected of him.”
“It’s a daunting prospect, but George is a smart boy,” the source said. “He understands that one day he will be king.”
King of the United Kingdom. King of the Commonwealth. And … regal member of the pride?! It’s a lot for the 10-year-old and his parents to navigate.
“William is torn. He’s beginning to prepare George, but he still wants his son to have as carefree a childhood as he can,” the source said.
And maybe Thursday night soccer matches are all part of that carefree plan. It’s a pretty good one. (Although a two-nil plan would be better.)
