Prince Charles and Camilla's Next Trip Just Gave Us a Major Clue About Meghan Markle's Due Date!
As royal mom-to-be Meghan Markle recently said, “We’re nearly there!”
The Duchess of Sussex told excited fans in January that her due date was in late April or early May. With just days to go, that proposed arrival date is being backed up by Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall’s upcoming travel plans.
The royal couple announced on Monday that they will visit Germany on May 7. The three-day tour will begin in Berlin and take them to Leipzig and Munich, where they will carry out a series of engagements to strengthen the relationship between the U.K. and Germany.
Since Charles and Camilla are expected to be nearby when Meghan and Prince Harry’s first child is born, it can be assumed that Baby Sussex will be born prior to their May 7 trip.
During Camilla‘s historic visit to Cuba with Prince Charles last month, she was heard telling an American fan who asked if she was excited about Baby Sussex, “Yes, very much so.”
And just one day after Meghan’s pregnancy news broke, Charles was spotted on a whiskey distillery tour in Scotland. Asked if he’d toasted to the happy announcement yet, he replied, “Oh yes, absolutely. Several times.”
During a special reception at Buckingham Palace last month, Meghan opened up about her pregnancy, telling a guest: “I look different than when you saw me last!”
After being asked how she feels about everyone asking about the baby, Meghan replied: “No, it’s actually very sweet. It’s a very sweet, nurturing thing to ask. We’re nearly there!”
Harry is also “so excited” about the arrival of his first child. During an outing last week, the royal dad-to-be happily accepted baby gifts.
“He will make the most wonderful father. We’ve known him since he was about 13 and he’s a great chap,” Lady Jayne Woodward, wife of former England rugby coach Sir Clive, said at the event. “I think he’s just so excited.”
Meghan and Harry announced that they are keeping the plans around the arrival of their baby private, which means royal fans should not expect for Meghan to pose on the steps of a hospital like Kate Middleton did after the birth of each of her three children. The palace will, however, announce when the Duchess of Sussex is in labor.
