'Pray for America,' 'Jersey Shore' stars react to Donald Trump assassination attempt
“Praying for our country.”
That's the word from “Jersey Shore Family Vacation” star Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino on X shortly after former President Donald Trump was rushed off stage Saturday, July 13 with blood dripping down his face after gunshots rang out at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.
Sorrentino of Holmdel included an American flag emoji with his post.
“Regardless of political affiliation, this was a cowardly act,” commented a follower.
“Praying for President Trump!!!” commented another.
Sorrentino posed for a picture with Trump and UFC head Dana White on June 1 during UFC 302 at the Prudential Center in Newark. Trump also posed in Newark with cast member Vinny Guadagnino, who posted an Associated Press photo of Trump, with his fist in the air, being led off the stage at the Saturday incident.
Guadagnino of Staten Island did not add a comment to the post.
“Vinny is a trumper? Bye,” commented a follower.
“Well that's one way to plummet the JSFV ratings,” commented another.

“Jersey Shore Family Vacation,” and its predecessor “Jersey Shore,” have been largely devoid of politics in any form. In 2019, cast members Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi, Jenni “JWoww” Farley, Deena Cortese and Angelina Pivarnick flew down to Washington, D.C., out of Teterboro Airport, to see President Trump on behalf of Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino, who was serving time for tax fraud when the episode was filmed.
They failed to secure a meeting with Trump in the episode.
One spectator at Saturday’s rally died and two are in serious condition, according to USA Today. The shooting is being investigated as an assassination attempt and the suspected shooter is dead.
