Pete Davidson Reveals How Much He Got Paid at ‘Saturday Night Live’ and What He Bought With First Paycheck
Pete Davidson is getting candid about how much he made during his time on Saturday Night Live.
The actor and comedian, who starred on the NBC sketch comedy show from 2014 to 2022, recently shared in an Instagram video for New York Magazine how much he earned for each episode, as well as his “biggest indulgence” after getting his first SNL paycheck.

“Do you guys know what they pay us? It’s like three grand an episode, so I think I got dinner!” Davidson said.
Davidson was known on SNL for several memorable “Weekend Update” moments, characters and sketches, including “Chad,” “Rap Roundtable” and “Jasmine and Aladdin.”
However, the Bupkis actor wasn’t the only SNL alum revealing what they brought with their first big paycheck. “I mean, you don’t really make enough money to make big purchases,” Jason Sudeikis, former castmember and writer, admitted in the video. “So, I think New York rent was probably the biggest purchase I made after writing on SNL the first year.”
Rachel Dratch also used her money on something practical: apartment rent. Other SNL stars, including James Austin Johnson, Sarah Sherman, Seth Meyers and Cheri Oteri, shared that they actually bought furniture with their first check … relatable, right?
“A couch,” Oteri said. “I have gotten it reupholstered three or four times. I remember a designer coming over in tears and he goes, ‘Oh, those arms are too high. We’re going to get rid of that couch.’ I said, ‘Oh no. No, you’re not. Not today, Satan! The couch is staying, you’re going.'”
As for Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Bowen Yang and Sarah Silverman, they went the luxury route. “I bought a pair of shoes that were out of my budget,” Louis-Dreyfus said with a laugh. “I’ve got to tell you, I think they were $75.”
Yang added, “Going to Saks across the street buying a pair of Gucci shoes. The kind that everyone got, and the kind that I wouldn’t feel super cool wearing out now.”
