Perry Township Summer Concert series starts July 10

Jul. 5—Another season of outdoor concerts in Perry Township is about to begin.

The community's 2024 Summer Concert Series kicks off July 10 at Perry Township Park, with a performance by Good Question. These shows will be held each Wednesday through Aug. 21.

Performance times are 7 to 9 p.m. for all seven concerts.

There is no admission charge, and guests are welcome to bring blankets and lawn chairs for the concerts. Perry Township Park is based at the northern end of Perry Park Road, on the shore of Lake Erie.

The park's Break by the Lake eatery will be operating during the concerts to provide food and beverages that spectators can purchase.

Here's the 2024 schedule of bands and their musical styles:

—July 10 — Good Question (1950s through present day)

—July 17 — Word of Mouth (Classic rock, Americana, country, rhythm and blues, and funk)

—July 24 — Thunder Creek (Variety of music, from rock 'n' roll to country)

—July 31 — Castaways (1950s, '60s, rock and Motown)

—Aug. 7 — Stratford Hill (1970s and '80s light rock)

—Aug. 14 — Swamp Rattlers (Blues, rock, Americana)

—Aug. 21 — Big North Band (Classic country)

Bands performing at the concert series will be paid completely through sponsorships from area businesses, said township Trustee Nancy Steele.

"Every year, businesses come through and support our concerts with donations, and we want to thank them for that," Steele said.

Businesses that funded the 2024 concerts and amounts donated are:

—Platinum sponsors ($500) — Prestige Carpet and Flooring; Townsend Machine; and WR Dawson Homes

—Gold sponsors ($300) — E. Dake Plumbing and Heating; My Family Dentist; North Ridge Mini Storage; Painesville Credit Union; Pollutro Rossley Insurance Agency; and X Press Printing Services

—Silver ($200) — Costa Oil; D.K. Heating and Sons Inc.; and RE/MAX Rising — Adrienne Vonlehmden

—Bronze ($100) — Amos Insurance and Financial Services
