People magazine names John Krasinski as 2024’s Sexiest Man Alive

John Krasinski has been named as 2024’s Sexiest Man Alive by People magazine.

Krasinski, 45, was announced as this year’s hottest hunk Tuesday night on CBS’ “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert.”

“The Office” star was humbled by the selection, telling the magazine he thought he was “being punked.”

“Just immediate blackout, actually. Zero thoughts,” he told People. “Other than maybe I’m being punked. That’s not how I wake up, thinking, ‘Is this the day that I’ll be asked to be Sexiest Man Alive?’ And yet it was the day you guys did it. You guys have really raised the bar for me.”

Glen Powell, Jeremy Allen White, Pedro Pascal and Ryan Reynolds were among the favorites to take home People’s beefcake crown.

Reaction to Krasinski receiving the honor was mixed on social media — with some questioning the “A Quiet Place” star’s relevance to 2024.

“I’m gonna crash out cause WDYM JOHN KRASINSKI??? in 2024???!!!” one X user wrote.

Others were supportive of People’s choice of Krasinski, who’s married to fellow actor Emily Blunt.

“STOP DRAGGING JOHN KRASINSKI OHHH HE IS SO FINE,” another X user exclaimed.

Should Reynolds have won, he would have become only the fourth man to win the title outright twice, following in the footsteps of Brad Pitt, George Clooney and Johnny Depp, who all have been named Sexiest Man Alive in two separate years.

Patrick Dempsey won the prize in 2023, following Chris Evans in 2022.

People revealed other swoon-worthy guys being featured in the Sexiest Man Alive issue ahead of Tuesday night’s announcement.

Benny Blanco was among People’s sexiest men, an honor his girlfriend Selena Gomez celebrated on social media.

“Not only do you love me unconditionally, you always get me my Taco Bell Mexican pizza,” she wrote on her Instagram story alongside a photo of Blanco from his People photo shoot.

The “sexy guys” from the hit sitcom “New Girl” — Jake Johnson, Max Greenfield, Lamorne Morris and Damon Wayans Jr. — also appeared in the issue, getting together for the first time since the show ended.

Also on Tuesday, People unveiled the winners of its readers choice poll, which saw more than 350,000 cast votes in 15 hotly contested races:

Thirty-four men have been named Sexiest Man Alive since People began bestowing the title in 1985.

Ben Affleck, Bradley Cooper, George Clooney, Sean Connery, Johnny Depp, Chris Evans, Richard Gere, Mel Gibson, Harrison Ford, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Jude Law, John F. Kennedy Jr., Hugh Jackman, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Harmon, Adam Levine, Matthew McConaughey, Michael B. Jordan, John Legend, Ryan Reynolds, Paul Rudd, Blake Shelton, Tom Cruise, Patrick Dempsey, Brad Pitt, Pierce Brosnan, Nick Nolte, Patrick Swayze, Channing Tatum, David Beckham, Idris Elba, Harry Hamlin, Matt Damon and Denzel Washington have all received People’s seal of approval.

Interestingly, People chose exes Cindy Crawford and Richard Gere as the Sexiest Couple Alive in 1993, temporarily axing the Sexiest Man Alive title. The pair were married from 1991 to 1995.
