Pamela Anderson is baring her soul like never before in new Netflix documentary, Pamela: a love story — which is streaming now.
Opening up about her private life and meteoric rise from small-town Canadian girl to the biggest name in 90s Hollywood, Anderson makes no secret about her personal struggles — not least of which her love life.
But none of that has stopped her quest to find love and to be taken seriously in this world.

Pamela Anderson finally speaks out about Pam and Tommy series
Last year, Disney+ released Pam And Tommy – a dramatisation of the sex tape which completely derailed Anderson's career, and had a negative impact on her relationship with Tommy Lee.
Anderson refused to help the show and ignored letters sent by Lily James who played her, but otherwise remained quiet about the series until now.
"It really gives me nightmares," she says as she sees posters and ads for the series. "I didn't sleep last night at all. I have no desire to watch it, I'm not going to watch it. Never watched the tape, I'm not going to watch this."

"Nobody really knows what we were going through at that time. They should've had to have my permission. I texted Tommy and said 'How do you feel about everything?' and he said 'Pam, just don't let it hurt you as much as it did the first time'. Why would I want to go through that again?"
Ultimately, she opts to avoid it, with her son Dylan viewing it on her behalf. Safe to say no one was impressed with it.
"Why would you bring something up from 20 years ago that you know f***ed someone up?" Dylan tells the cameras.
"[Taking] the worst part of her life, and making a semi-comedy out of it, doesn't make sense."
Pamela Anderson tried to kill female babysitter who was molesting her as a child
One of the first and most shocking reveals in the documentary is the fact Anderson attempted to kill a babysitter when she was just a child to try and stop years of systematic abuse.
Growing up in Canada, she and her siblings were left in the care of an unnamed woman, who would systemically sexually abuse them.

"It was like three or four years of abuse," she tells the camera. "She always told me not to tell my parents. I tried to protect my brother from her. I tried to kill her – tried to stab her in the heart with a candy cane pen."
Fate eventually got in the way though with an eerie accident which left her fearing she had psychic abilities.
"I told her I wanted her to die, and she died in a car accident the next day," Anderson says. "So I thought I'd killed her with my magical mind and I couldn't tell anybody.
"I was sure that I did it, that I'd wished her dead and she died. I lived with that the whole of my young life."
Pamela Anderson was raped at the age of 12
As part of her opening up to the cameras, Anderson lets the production team into one of her most treasured possessions of all: the diaries she's kept over the years — even when she was hesitant to read them herself.
In one extract, detailing a time when she was barely a teenager, Anderson reveals she was raped a man who lived locally to her.

"[Me and a friend] went to a friend's condo, she went upstairs with the guy she had a crush on. I started to play backgammon downstairs with his friend while I waited for her," she writes.
"We played for a while until he said I looked like I needed a massage. He was 25, I was 12. He raped me. I felt like it was my fault."
After the incident, due to an unhappy home life, she felt like she couldn't tell anyone for years.
Pamela Anderson says she turned down Sylvester Stallone after an indecent proposal
Anderson had her pick of eligible men during the height of her fame, and she happily talks about the romances she had during the documentary.
Among them were actor Scott Baio, Superman star Dean Cain, Baywatch co-star Kelly Slater and The Real World's Eric Nies.
But there was one star who didn't impress her — Sylvester Stallone — who she says offered her a less than ideal romantic arrangement.

"He offered me a condo and a Porsche to be his 'number one girl', and I was like 'does that mean there's number two? Uh-uh.'" she laughs.
"He goes 'That's the best offer you're gonna get, honey. You're in Hollywood now.' I wanted to be in love and I didn't want anything less than that."
Pamela found a crack pipe in her Christmas tree during marriage to Rick Salomon
More than anything, Anderson has been on a quest to find "The One", getting married five times to four different men.
She married pro poker player Rick Salomon twice, with their first marriage in 2007 to 2008 ending quickly after finding a crack pipe hidden in the family Christmas tree.

"He still to this day denies it and says it was somebody else," she says. "Who else would have a crack pipe in the Christmas tree? It wasn't me!
"So we were only married a few months, it was annulled, but we were still friends. Then when he got sober, and was sober for years, we decided to try it again. It didn't last long either."
