OU football legend Brian Bosworth teams up with Quinn Ewers for Dr Pepper commercial
During the 1970s, a marketing campaign posited that peace and unity could be achieved by buying the world a Coke.
But what about a Dr Pepper?
Thanks to Dr Pepper, a Longhorn and Sooner are working in perfect harmony. Over the past week, the beverage has rolled out new commercials that have starred Quinn Ewers and Brian Bosworth. Ewers, who essentially plays himself in the "Fansville" spots, is a junior quarterback at Texas. Bosworth, who plays a sheriff, is a famed Oklahoma linebacker who starred for the Sooners from 1984-86.
Yes, this is the same Bosworth who once told reporters that "Burnt orange is not a very attractive color." Yes, it's the same Bosworth who wrote the name of former UT coach Fred Akers on his shoes ahead of his final Red River Rivalry game, which was a contest that Oklahoma won by a 47-12 score. Yes, it's the same Bosworth who said ahead of that 1986 game that he wanted to beat UT by 63 points.

Of what was said to him by Texas players during a 15-15 tie in 1984, Bosworth said that "you can't print most of (it) in the newspapers. But at least one Longhorn doesn't feel the same way 40 years later.
"It was cool to get to meet him and talk to him," Ewers said during his Monday media availability. "I feel like he's kind of a trailblazer in the NIL era, so it was cool to catch up with him and get to meet him."
So no trash talk? "No trash talk. He's a cool dude," Ewers said.
