Conan O’Brien will host the 97th Academy Awards, his first time on the job. The show will air on ABC, stream live on Hulu.
Many of the presenters on the list have won Oscars themselves: Berry, Cruz, Goldberg, Downey, Murphy, Randolph and Stone (the latter four won each acting category at last year’s ceremony). Johansson, Lithgow and Squibb have previously been nominated as well, and Yang helped present this year’s Oscar nominees in January.
Emilia Pérez leads this years nominations with 13, though the film has since encountered scandal regarding past social media posts from star Karla Sofía Gascón. The Brutalist — also dealing an AI controversy — and Wicked are tied for second place, with 10. All three films are up for best picture, along with Anora, A Complete Unknown, Conclave, Dune: Part Two, I’m Still Here, Nickel Boys and The Substance.
Among the studios, Netflix leads with 16 noms. On Monday, the Academy also finalized its list of producers named for films nominated in picture, best animated feature and best documentary feature categories. The newly confirmed nominees bring the total number of individuals nominated for awards at the 97th Oscars to 220.
The ceremony will start at 4 p.m. PT, continuing with the earlier start time the show debuted last year. The official red carpet will begin half an hour before.
